So-Cal Slow Ride!
California Street Vans'  event, the So-Cal Slow Ride is a one day caravan/cruise we put on in January. This year the event is January 4th 2026.
!!!!!!!!!!!!***Meet up spot change***!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

South High is no go this year, We will go for the front of the parking lot at Sprouts-

Sprouts/Vista Plaza 4230 Pacific Coast Hwy, Torrance, CA 90505. 10AM meet up

If something goes wrong with that spot the backup spot is Ralphs parking lot.. Plaza Mayor Shopping Center, 5035 Pacific Coast Hwy, Torrance, CA 90505

It's been a while since we've had an adventurous launch, Looking forward to a side of chaos hahahahahah- Convoy leaves about 11:00 AM... Or sooner if there's... issues...

** Tips and tricks **

  1. There are no stops for food, pack a lunch.

  2.  Bathroom breaks may be few and far between- wear depends lol. (or have a piss jug)

  3. Dash plaques sell out early be early if you want one.. $5.00 Cash 100% preferred.

  4. No Karen- Nobody has a fucking map... don't ask. Pay attention and it helps to have a CB. ( Channel 13 )

  5. Will we be selling merch at the end? Anything is possible..

  6. If you get lost like a newbie or miss the 10.00AM staging....here are some hookup spots-

Esplanade- quick staging ( if traffic allows ).. You get there by heading down PCH making a left on Ave A and then making a left on Esplanade.

1st major stop and most common point for people to get lost- approximately 1608 Paseo Del Mar Palos Verdes Estates, California ( its common for people to miss the right turn from Palos Verdes Dr W onto Paseo Del Mar ) I'm going to guess we usually get here around noon.. Maybe a little earlier

2nd stop if open- Point Vincente Lighthouse ( the dirt lot ) 31501 Palos Verdes Dr W, Rancho Palos Verdes, CA 90275- not likely though as they never have enough room for us anymore.

3rd and (generally final) stop 3070 Shoshonean Rd San Pedro 90731 United States ( the parking lot for cabrillo marine aquarium / cabrillo beach) We're usually here around two or so and stay there for awhile...

I'm also looking into another possible end spot.. I'll advise that information if it happens.

For 2021 we came back to our traditional Palos Verdes Route. We had perfect weather and 116 vans crushing the coast!

There are a ton of places to check out all the fun we had including-

Our instagram

Our youtube

Our facebook channels- vans rule and californiastreetvans socal slowriders

The first Slow Ride, on January 8th, 2012, in Palos Verdes drew over 25 vans, and photos and videos were all over facebook, making the event well known across the country. Since then, we've hosted several Slow Rides, in Orange and Los Angeles counties, with numbers of participants growing, and now it's always the first van event of the year here in Southern California.

For the 2019 So-Cal Slow Ride we did something completely different and made a run up the malibu coast, starting at Will Rogers and ending at Point Dume ( except for the hardcore campers who went on to thornhill !)

Rain was in the forecast but there was no rain on the actual cruise, it was just a nice cloudy day at the beach! we did get POUNDED by rain at Thornhill overnight but sitting in your van listening to the surf and rain was worth the attempt to evacuate us and the other shenanigans that ensued.
